Project Overview
The Challenge
Members could only reach their accounts through a desktop web portal built a decade earlier, while every bank they compared it with had an app. Younger members were leaving, card fraud was reported by phone during office hours only, and the credit union had no way to promote savings products at the moment a member looked at their balance.
Our Solution
We built a React Native app for both platforms against the core banking system, with security handled properly: biometric sign-in backed by device-bound keys, secrets in the Keychain and Keystore, certificate pinning and step-up authentication for payments. Members can freeze and unfreeze a card instantly, set savings goals with round-ups, view loan schedules and make faster payments with confirmation of payee. Everything was penetration tested before release.
