Svelte compiles components to small, direct DOM updates instead of shipping a runtime, and Astro renders pages to HTML and hydrates only the interactive parts — its "islands" model. Both approaches attack the same problem from different ends.

Is Svelte mature enough for production?
Yes. Svelte and SvelteKit are stable, widely used in production and backed by an active team. The main practical consideration is hiring: the talent pool is smaller than React, so we make sure the code and documentation we hand over are easy for any JavaScript developer to follow.
When would you recommend Astro over Next.js?
When the site is mostly content and only a few parts are interactive. Astro ships less JavaScript and is simpler to reason about. If the project is genuinely an application, Next.js or SvelteKit is the better fit.
Can Astro use React components we already have?
Yes. Astro supports React, Vue, Svelte and Preact components on the same page, so you can reuse existing work while new pages stay lightweight.
Will moving to Astro affect our search rankings?
